Has anyone seen the latest animated Nasonex commercial? The voice sure
sounds like Antonio Banderas. Is it? Or is it someone that sounds like
him?

He's been doing that voice for YEARS now.  Where have you been?

All I want to know is why a bee has that accent. What is it, John
Belushi's killer bee? This is supposed to make me want to ask my doctor
about the nasal spray? A heavily-accented bee?

Oh yeah. I forgot about that. But Pepe was French and Antonio... isn't.
It's still pretty baffling, not to mention unlikely to make me ask about
the product itself.

I had no idea that was Banderas. I always wonder why they shell out the huge
bucks to have some celebrity voice-over when they don't even make a
reference to the celebrity. Is Banderas' Spanish accent so uniquely
exquisite and suited to Nasonex that no other Spaniard would do?

Funny, I just put it together last night after watching one of those
commercials that it sounded like Banderas! Thanks for confirming.

i have some friends who do professional voice work and they have a
hard enough time competing against each other for jobs, let alone
big-name celebs.  they're quite upset about it, as you said.
